Freshman Alex Norstrom was the first NEC freshman to cross the finish line at the Nassaney Invitational to earn back-to-back NEC Rookie of the Week honors.

Junior Ryan Hertzog finish eighth overall to lead the Blue Devils to a sixth place overall finish at the Nassaney Memorial Race on Saturday in Smithfield, RI.

Freshman Alex Norstrom of the Central Connecticut men s cross country team was named the Northeast Conference Men s Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

The six-time defending Northeast Conference champion Central Connecticut men's cross country team opened the 2015 season with a sixth place finish at the Stony Brook University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Blue Devils open the season at Stony Brook on September 5.

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic honors on Wednesday.
